The loss of the “Grand Dame”, Trey

As we have come to learn, the farm is a constant reminder regarding life and death.  We certainly knew that Trey’s time was coming, as she had turned 13 years old earlier this spring.  In her two years here at NoHoa Springwood, she gave us two beautiful kids, Bowie and Daisy, who are both 16 months of age.  Additionally, two of Trey’s earlier doe progeny, Michonne and Mocha, also are here on our farm, are both are core to our breeding program to strengthen the Wood line of Spanish Goats.  We believe that she suffered a stroke, as we found her in the barn Sunday morning laying strangely and unable to control or stand on her front legs.  Her passing saddens us, but we are happy that she was able to enjoy a very comfortable life with us here in her golden years.
